A. what is Vowels ?
Vowels are of Phoneme classification. Practically, vowels are relatively easier to produce and to pronounce
than consonants. In the process of production, vowels go through 3 (three) categories ;
1. The shape and position of the tongue
2. Lip-rounding
3. Duration of articulators
You can have these basics to start pronouncing or producing vowels sounds.
1. The shape and Position of the Tongue
Based on this state, vowels are made by the tongue shape (front, central, of back) and tongue position (high,
mid-high, or low). Below is a set of vowels figured in Quadrilateral system.
2. Lip-rounding
The second feature of vowels is based on lip rounding, because in fact, lips play roles importantly and can
be modified in certain shapes. Based on lip rounding, vowels can be classified into:
a. rounded vowels
